Hello. This is a guitar that needs no introduction: the Schecter Pete Townshend Telecaster. Originally introduced to Pete by his guitar tech Alan Rogan in 78, Pete used this model from 79 (Concert for Kampuchea) to 85 (Live Aid). The guitar was later put up for auction at Christys Auction House and sold for $32,000.

This Townshend Tele is in very good condition for its 35 years of age. The body has a stunning surface finish that is as shiny as glass (see photos). As Pete himself has commented back in 1982:

“These Schecter guitars are superbly made and easy to play and they sound glorious…....Dont be fooled by imitations of old guitars, these Schecters are unique!”

SERIAL NUMBER: 8240 (T729P), COLOR: Black (Schecter calls this color Graphite) with Single Cream Binding, BODY: Center Seam Alder construction, NECK: Solid one piece Birdseye Maple neck, C profiled, MACHINE HEADS: Staggered Pole Length Vintage Schecter tuners in black, SCALE LENGTH: 25.5 (648 mm), NO. OF FRETS: 22 Jumbo Frets, NECK and BRIDGE PICKUPS: Schecter humbuckers, CONTROLS: Master Volume (wired to split the neck pickup) and Master Tone (wired to split the bridge pickup), BRIDGE: Schecter Brass Tele Bridge with 6 Saddles in black, PICKUP SWITCHING: 3-Position Toggle: Position 1: Bridge Pickup 2. Bridge and Neck Pickup 3. Neck Pickup, HARDWARE: Black, Original Schecter Hard Case and Pete Townshend strap included.

The neck is straight and has minimal fretwear. The body has an incredible mirror-like shine. There are a few blemishes on this vintage guitar, but they dont detract from the beauty of the instrument.
