About Us

In 1986 I graduated from Dean College in Franklin, MA. with a major in guitar and a minor in small business management, then my local music store hired me. Yay! I ended up working at that shop for 11 years on and off doing everything from sales, management, accounting, advertising, stockboy, janitor... you name it, I did it.

During the 11 years I spent learning the ropes of music retail, I was also an active performer. In 1987 I was a member of Adam Bomb on Geffen Records and in 1988 I took a year off to attend Musicians Institute (GIT) in Hollywood, CA. Since then Ive been lucky enough to share stages with Dio, Stryper, Kings X, Yngwie Malmsteen, Ratt, Planet X, Skid Row, Rob Halford, Queensryche and even Iron Maiden, when my band toured as their opening act in 2000.

In 1996 the opportunity to open my own music store presented itself and with the support of vendors and customers alike, I opened Matts Music Center on November 6th, 1996. My staff and I have come a long way since 96 and my little shop, isnt so little any more. Weve grown because we offer super competitive prices on great products and we back it all up with service thats better than our competition. Simple as that!

I still play today, when schedules allow it I record and perform with my band Machines of Grace, featuring some members of The Trans Siberian Orchestra. I also gig almost every weekend with my cover band "Flashmob", so Im always trying out new gear in a live atmosphere. My years of performing and studying music have taught me whats important and I always try to run my business by the golden rule of "treat people how I want to be treated". Hard to believe but Ive been working in musical instrument retail for 24 years and Ive been playing guitar for 32 years. Im happy to put my experience to work for you!

Shipping Policy Your item will be shipped via Fedex Ground unless otherwise specified. Other delivery services available are Fedex 3 day, 2 day and Next Day, please contact us via phone or email for pricing on these services. We ship worldwide! International customers, please call or email for shipping rates to your country if not specified in the auction. We do our absolute best to correctly estimate shipping charges in our auctions, however additional charges may apply for shipments going to AK, PR, HI and overseas.

Payment Policy Q: Will this item work on 220-240 Volt power?

A: Units with auto-switching power supplies will state "100-240 Volt". All other items have USA plug configuration power cords included and are intended to operate at 110V. These units can be operated safely with the use of a step down transformer in countries that have voltages higher than 110V. Be warned that if you attempt to power a 110V unit in a country with higher voltage, your purchase will be severely damaged. This is not the responsibility of Matts Music Center and it is not covered under any warranty.



Q: What if I want to return for a refund?
A: All returns for refund will incur an 18% restocking fee (including defective items, damaged items, and DOA items). Defective items can be exchanged for a working unit, but any return for refund will incur an 18% restocking fee. Software once opened (factory seal broken) can not be returned for refund.



Q: How do I ship back my Return/Exchange?

A: The customer can choose any transportation method (drop off, UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.) to return goods for refund or exchange (including defective items). Matts Music Center suggests using a shipping service with tracking capabilities and delivery confirmation. Software once opened (factory seal broken) can not be returned for refund.



Q: I need a replacement ASAP!

A: A replacement for a defective item can be shipped out if a deposit is given. Once the original defective unit is returned to Matts Music Center the deposit will be refunded. Replacements are sent out UPS Ground (domestically) and any expedited shipping will be at the customers expense. International customers must pay all shipping to and from.



Q: Is there a warranty on my item?

A: All new and open box items carry a full manufacturers warranty valid in the USA. B-stock and refurbished items may have a shorter warranty period, please see the item description for more details. Warranties are only valid in the United States of America.

A: Please contact us via phone, email or live chat on our website for exact shipping rates



Q: What if my item is defective?

A: Customers must contact us within 15 days of delivery to request a return or exchange. Customers are responsible for transportation of the item back to Matts Music Center (this includes return shipping). For exchanges of product within the United States Matts Music Center will pay for shipping of the new item back to the customer.



Q: Can you ship to an alternate address?

A: We can only ship to the address on record in your Paypal account or your credit card issuer..



Q: When will my item ship?

A: Most items ship within 1 business day of payment clearing. Please note some payments may go through PayPal as an echeck and not clear for several business days. Your tracking number will be emailed to your email address registered with eBay.



Q: Shipment Tracking Number?

A: In the evening after close of business your tracking number will be emailed to your email address registered with eBay. Please be sure to check any SPAM filters. The tracking will also be uploaded to eBay and can be found in the Order Details of your purchase in your "My eBay" page.



Q: What is B-Stock / Open Box / Demo?

A: May have cosmetic blemishes or the box has been damaged. The units are fully functional and come with a warranty from the manufacturer. Please feel free to contact us about a certain item, because we can often provide a new unit at a similar price.



Q: Can I get a lower price?

A: If a "Make Offer" appears in the listing under "Buy It Now" please feel free to submit an offer and a sales associate will get back to you with our lowest price.
