Wampler Low Blow Bass Overdrive and Distortion

Brian Wampler is known as one of the industry’s very few kings of overdrive pedals. And what with the rising tide of bass players entering the effects playground, it should come as a shock to absolutely nobody that both Wampler and we receive an endless stream of questions asking which of Wampler’s pedals work well with bass guitar.

Now that the Low Blow has arrived, it represents the answer to that often-asked question. The Low Blow is the first Wampler pedal designed especially with the thundergunner in mind. Wampler’s trademark juicy EQ section kicks off the Low Blow, so dialing in your sound is really no problem.

From there, Wampler includes the requisite Gain knob and that magic two-word phrase that makes bassists everywhere squeal for joy: Clean blend. The knob is so important that it’s surrounded by red on the face of the pedal.

The Gain knob works in conjunction with the Gain Structure toggle for a clipping selection that either opens up the Low Blow or clamps down on it for a smoother clip. The Notch toggle helps eliminate woofy cabinet honking without having to turn down your amp to compensate. This allows players to blast off at full volume with a richer frequency spectrum.
