Wampler Plexi Drive Deluxe

Wampler has been in the overdrive game longer than many of you have been playing guitar, and in that time hes learned a lot of things about dirt and gain. Now, he puts all these things to work in the Plexi-Drive Deluxe, the next and final chapter in the British amp-in-a-box saga.

Where the original had a standard three-knob configuration with a toggle for more Bass, the deluxe makes the original pale in comparison.

Now added: a three-band EQ, similar to the one found in the Clarksdale. Any player of that pedal knows: this is one powerful badass EQ. The gain section has been divided into Pre- and Post Gain, with a separate footswitch for the Pre Gain section. This makes the Plexi Drive Deluxe behave more like an amp than ever before. 

The bass boost circuit remains intact, and it is now joined in tandem by a bright switch. This is a very versatile option, as it blurs the line between amp and pedal in many forums—the sounds of nearly any Marshall amp youd want to emulate are now at your fingertips.

The Plexi-Drive Deluxe has the option of running between nine and 18 volts, which dramatically increases the headroom by emulating high plate voltages in a tube amp. This means the Plexi Drive Deluxe can take anything you throw at it and churn out sweet sounding overdrive that would make the Queen blush.
