The Epiphone Wildkat is truly an Epiphone original! Thissmaller-body, semi-hollow guitar has great vintage sound and is remarkablycomfortable to play!

Epiphone is a leader in archtop design and has been since the 1930’s. An earlypioneer in archtops even before they were electrified, Epiphone was neverafraid to do something out of the ordinary. With no notable changes in archtopdesign by anybody in decades, Epiphone took the archtop and practically marriedit to a solid body guitar. The Wildkat now takes its place among our all-timegreat designs.

Epiphone InnovationAgain

The Wildkat’s innovative design starts with a solid piece ofwarm, sustain-rich mahogany that is computer-routed to create an acousticguitar-like body except with a “center block” area like an ES-335. The body isthen covered with a beautiful Antique Natural finish to create a semi-hollow bodymasterpiece. The Wildkat’s mahogany body is matched with a hand-fitted,glued-in solid maple neck for maximum tone and sustain. It features a rosewoodfingerboard and an authentic B70 licensed Bigsby® vibrato for even more sonicversatility. The vintage voice of this ‘Kat comes from a pair of Epiphone"dog ear" P- 90 Classic pickups specifically designed by Epiphone.

Other appointments includethe historic metal Epiphone name “badge” on the headstock as well as a uniquecontrol configuration of 1-bridge volume, 1-neck volume, 1-master tone and1-master volume. These controls are powered by Epiphone’s full-size 1” 500Kpotentiometers and matched with Epiphone’s superior all-metal toggle switch andheavy-duty output jack.

The Wildkat also features premium 18:1 Grover® machine headsfor superior tuning stability. All of this great design comes together withfabulous vintage semi-hollow tone and great sustain plus, being slightly largerthan a Les Paul and smaller than an ES-335 size, its lightweight and reallycomfortable to play!
