Until now, if you wanted thick humbucker tones, fat P-90 tones, and clucky Fender single coil tones, youd have to haul 3 guitars to the gig.  But those days are over, thanks to P-Rails, Seymour Duncans multivoiced pickup.  In a guitar setup for 2 humbuckers, a pair of P-Rails and a single 2 way switch (Allparts EP-0285 or EP 0081-xxx) allows you to switch between full sized humbucker and P-90 sounds.  Add a 3 way switch (Allparts EP-0082-xxx) and you bring in the added dimension of an authentic sounding vintage Strat.

Other than the addition of the switch, no other modificaiton is necessary. to achieve a wide variety of classic guitar tones.

available mods
Normally, in humbucking mode, P-Rails are wired in series, for a high-output sound that works great for classic rock and heavier tones. However, when wired in parallel, the coil mismatch produces a very usable P.A.F.-style humbucker tone with less phase cancellation associated with standard parallel wired humbuckers, complete with present upper-mid “bloom” and pronounced string articulation.
