Brian Wampler doesnt take his job lightly. As a master pedal builder, theres not a lot of room for error. So when Brian Wampler sets out to design a pedal based around an Orange amplifier, thats what you get—a pedal as close to an Orange amplifier as possible. As usual, the man has succeeded and this instant classic is known as the cataPulp—a not-so-subtle nod to this class of amps.

The cataPulp was A-Bd against a whole host of actual Orange amps at Wampler HQ and the cataPulp is the result of these sleepless nights spent hovering over a breadboard. What you get is authentic Orange tone, squeezed into a tidy 125B enclosure. Theres relay-based true bypass switching, theres top-mounted jacks to save pedalboard spave, theres awesome subdued graphics, and most importantly, theres that tone—oh, that tone.

Those of us who have played an Orange know the sheer power that theyre capable of unleashing, and now this tone is for everyone. Theres Wamplers trademark super-juicy active three-band equalizer, capable of shaping the tone beyond that of an actual Orange. Perhaps best of all, the cataPulp handles any pedal with ease. Most Oranges just dont like other gain pedals. However, the cataPulp eats them up with a side of chips with malt vinegar.
